Also on Sunday, Timmy Kay made his Trico debut for the Northern Yankees a good one, going 3-for-3 with a 3B, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored as the Yankees beat Cetronia 12-1...Adam Sandt was 2-for-4 with a 2B and Caleb Calarco got the win...The Longhorns got some bad news from that game as George U. The Black Sox have only won 4 games in the short history of their franchise, but they currently are on a 3-game winning streak going back to last year...

They are 2-0 this season with a 6-2 win over Pennridge on Saturday to re-claim sole possession of 1st place...

Mike Toroni went 2-for-3 with a 2B, Robert Hoyle was 2-for-4 and Mark Kresge was 2-for-2...For Pennridge, Kellen Jarrett followed up his solid 2008 season with a 3-for-4 day with a double in his 2009 debut and John Irizarry was 2-for-4...

In other action, The Boyertown Metz, a first-year team, made their Trico debut by giving the Limeport Bulls everything they could handle...But in the end, the Bulls won 3-1, despite being out-hit 4-2 by the Metz...

Best movie I've seen in quite a while...

Nominated for 8 Oscars and it won 4 Oscars, which generally means spit to me as I tend to ignore these "Oscar" films...But I saw the trailer for it (below) and watched it for the first time this past week...Watched it 4 times already...Pick up something new every time I watch it...Just a great movie...

If you haven't seen this one, catch it some time soon...It's on Starz now and it will hit other movie channels in the upcoming months...Or, just rent it...

This will go down as a classic and I'd be shocked if there isn't a sequel...

I am continuing to overhaul the 5000+ files on the Trico site...I have added the 2000 and 2001 stat sheets and games to the Calendar schedule...A lot of the linescores for these 2 seasons are not complete yet, but will be in the upcoming weeks and then 1999 will be next to add...

If time permits in the offseason, the following stuff may be added:

1) Franchise stats and leaders
2) the 1998, 1997 and/or 1996 seasons and stat sheets to the Calendar section
3) Individual player stats breakdown (for years 1999-2008), which includes players' life-time batting average vs. every team he's played against

The 2007 Program will be added at some point, too, for those who did not get one at the banquet last year...

Jared Trout tossed a no-hitter in Game 2 of the best-of-5 semifinals as the Owls won 1-0 for the second consecutive day over Limeport to take a 2-0 series lead...Trout, a former Oakland Athletics' farmhand who pitched for the Vancouver Canadians in 2003 and the Kane County Cougars in 2004-05 in the Oakland system, got some great defensive plays from A.J. Bohn and Jon Kalejta to get the no-no...He walked one batter in the game...Scott Stewart was the tough-luck losing pitcher, allowing just 3 hits and striking out 10 for the Bulls...
