Coplay 2007 Champions
Brian Boylan tossed a 5-hitter to lead the Coplay Reds to a 4-2 victory in Game 4 at Limeport Stadium to give the franchise their second consecutive championship Wednesday night...
The Reds did not lose 2 games in a row the entire season en route to the title, the fourth in franchise history...
Mike Bortz of Coplay was voted the Playoffs MVP by the league officers and internet radio announcer, although Dan Fassl (2-0, 1 save, 0.00 ERA) got votes and although a player form the runner-up team usually does not get this award, Mike Ziemak certainly deserved consideration with his .526 batting average and flawless defense in the postseason...So did Shawn Betz with a 3-0 record and .345 postseason batting average...
The Trico Banquet is Saturday, August 18 at 5:00...Directions and an itinerary can be found on this link:
