Mark Angelo of the Limeport Bulls drafted by Seattle...

Mark Angelo of the Limeport Bulls was selected by the Seattle Mariners with the 2nd pick of the 44th round (pick 1313) of the 2009 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft on Thursday...

Angelo finished with a bang for the Bulls the day before (Wednesday) with a 3-for-4 day with two 2Bs and 5 RBI...

We wish Mark the best of luck in professional baseball...

Boyertown gets their first franchise win on Monday...

Boyertown got their first win in their inaugural season, a 5-3 decision in 5 innings over Jordan Creek on Monday...Mike Lloyd got the win for Boyertown, while Nole Saylor was 2-for-2...

In other action on Monday, Gabelsville moved to 3-0 on the season on Monday with a 5-0 win over Pennridge...Steve Cimino went 3-for-4 with a 2B and 2 runs scored, Jon Kalejta was 2-for-4, Gary Hessler was 2-for-3 and Jared Trout got the win...

Volpe's moved to 2-1 on the season with a 9-0 shutout over Mezza Luna...Jeremy Arner was 3-for-4 with 2 2Bs and 5 RBI and Scott Garger was 2-for-2 with a 2B and 3 runs scored...Matt Kresge was 2-for-3 for the Black Sox...

Limeport edged out the Northern Yankees 3-2 at the Stadium...Ricky Rivera knocked in the game-winner with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th with a single off the pitcher's glove for an infield single...Ryan Walter got the win in relief...

Cody Kulp has a 6 RBI day as Gabelsville defeats Mezza Luna...

Cody Kulp went 3-for-4 with 2 2Bs, a HR and 6 RBI on Sunday to lead Gabelsville to an 8-0 whitewash of previously unbeaten Mezza Luna...Jon Kalejta was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored, Mike Schwager was 2-for-3 and Shawn Betz got the win...Matt Kresge was 2-for-3 for the Black Sox in defeat...

Also on Sunday, Timmy Kay made his Trico debut for the Northern Yankees a good one, going 3-for-3 with a 3B, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored as the Yankees beat Cetronia 12-1...Adam Sandt was 2-for-4 with a 2B and Caleb Calarco got the win...The Longhorns got some bad news from that game as George U. Horn has a fractured eye socket (from a collision with a teammate trying to catch a ball in shallow LF) and his status is undetermined until he sees a plastic surgeon and a diagnosis is finalized...

In the other Sunday game, the Volpe's Fleetwings beat Boyertown 2-0 as Ryan Palos got the win over Kevin Thompson as both teams managed just 2 hits each for the game...

Mezza Luna Black Sox still own 1st place...

The Black Sox have only won 4 games in the short history of their franchise, but they currently are on a 3-game winning streak going back to last year...

They are 2-0 this season with a 6-2 win over Pennridge on Saturday to re-claim sole possession of 1st place...

Mike Toroni went 2-for-3 with a 2B, Robert Hoyle was 2-for-4 and Mark Kresge was 2-for-2...For Pennridge, Kellen Jarrett followed up his solid 2008 season with a 3-for-4 day with a double in his 2009 debut and John Irizarry was 2-for-4...

In other action, The Boyertown Metz, a first-year team, made their Trico debut by giving the Limeport Bulls everything they could handle...But in the end, the Bulls won 3-1, despite being out-hit 4-2 by the Metz...

Ryan Wyland got the win in relief for the Bulls, striking out 7 in 3 innings in relief of Chris Morrison, who went four strong innings, striking out 6...Pennridge starter Todd Speilman pitched well for Boyertown, striking out 7 in just 4 innings of work, allowing just 2 hits and 2 earned runs...Nole Saylor did not allow a hit in the final 3 innings, striking out 3 for Boyertown...

Mezza Luna Black Sox win on 2009 Opening Night in Trico...

The Mezza Luna Black Sox are in 1st place for the first time in franchise history (this is just their 2nd year in the league) thanks to their 5-4 win over Jordan Creek on Wednesday...

Josh Hillman went 4 1/3 innings for the Black Sox to pick up the win before giving way to Greg Hoyle, who picked up the save in 1 2/3 innings of relief...

Matt Kresge went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and Mike Toroni went 2-for-3 for the Black Sox...Candido Garcia went 2-for-3 for Jordan Creek...

Limeport Bulls get players signed...

The 2008 Limeport Bulls ended up having THREE pitchers in their rotation and a 4th pitcher not in their rotation signed by Independent League teams...

Here are 2 of those pitchers going strong:

Steve Roberts was signed by the Traverse City Beach Bums and had an excellent stint last summer with them (his stats are posted here:

No Country For Old Men...

Best movie I've seen in quite a while...

Nominated for 8 Oscars and it won 4 Oscars, which generally means spit to me as I tend to ignore these "Oscar" films...But I saw the trailer for it (below) and watched it for the first time this past week...Watched it 4 times already...Pick up something new every time I watch it...Just a great movie...

If you haven't seen this one, catch it some time soon...It's on Starz now and it will hit other movie channels in the upcoming months...Or, just rent it...

This will go down as a classic and I'd be shocked if there isn't a sequel...
