Limeport Bulls get players signed...

The 2008 Limeport Bulls ended up having THREE pitchers in their rotation and a 4th pitcher not in their rotation signed by Independent League teams...

Here are 2 of those pitchers going strong:

Steve Roberts was signed by the Traverse City Beach Bums and had an excellent stint last summer with them (his stats are posted here:

Roberts page on the Beach Bums website is here:

Sean Heimpel signed with the Nashua Pride late in the summer and had good outings with them, stats here:

Heimpel got traded to the Washington Wild things in the offseason and here is his page on their team:

We wish Steve and Sean the best of luck in 2009...

  • where were these players before Limeport? it's not like Limeport develped these guys!!!! they were just borrowed for a few weeks during the players off season or vacation time, isnt that accurate? i just want to make it clear that these guys are bird dogged for a couple of weeks...thats it

  • No, that is not close to accurate...All 3 players started the season with Limeport and had no professional team interested in them...

For people who are informed about adult amateur league baseball, they know that these leagues in no way, shape or form "develop players"...

However, since the GM of the Limeport Bulls team is a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers, he is able to CREATE OPPORTUNITIES for players who are good enough to play professional baseball...

One pitcher pitched for Limeport for a month (from the start of the season) and the other 2 pitchers were there the ENTIRE season before getting an opportunity to play pro ball based on the recommendation of Dylan Dando because of the way they performed at Limeport last summer...Those 2 players also worked out with Dylan at Lehigh Valley Baseball Academy, and there is where they got some additional developmental instruction to prepare them for their upcoming seasons...

So no, the 3 guys Limeport had last year were not "bird-dogged" at all, in fact, no professional team in ANY league were looking at them and nobody had interest in any of them until Dylan made some phone calls for them once they proved themselves worthy of getting a shot...

So again, the Bulls don't develop players, we creat opportunites for good players who want a shot at the next level...

    Hope this helps...

  • that's a bunch of bull....no pun intended!!!!! it's a shame you guys cant hit like the real good teams in that league, as far as ur predictions go...u guys cant hit to get out of the first round, it sucks that you guys make the playoffs and fall flat on your face you guys can win 30 games against the bottom feeding teams..but when the big boys come to that crap of a stadium you guys fall flat on your face
