Coplay wins battle of unbeatens

Jose Medina struck out the first 5 batters he faced en route to a 5-hit shutout as the Reds improved to 5-0-1 with a 7-0 win over the ICC Pirates...Kyle Ruff was 2-for-3 for ICC, while J.R. Graver and Jesse Borden were both 2-for-3 for Coplay...

Since someone forgot his diskette for the camera, the ICC pictures are rescheduled to be taken June 4 at the Jordan Creek game...

Where to find stat sheets on the website

People have been coming up to me at games asking me where to find the stat sheets on the website for Trico games...

You can click on the Trico Site Tutorial on the Home Page (near the bottom), or basically, you just click on the "Schedule" link on the new navigation bar, which will take you here:

http://www.tricountyleague.com/History/2007_Calendar.shtml

From this page, you have your choice of calendars to choose from where you simply click on any number on either calendar that is underlined and that will take you to the daily linescores/scheduled games with umpire listings, stat sheets and even website or Morning Call articles if applicable...

One note for viewing stat sheets for the 2007 season...If you do not see the word "received" with a date after it to the right of the "Stat Sheet" link, then you will get a blank stat sheet...The "received" is put there to let people surfing the site know that the stat sheet is available for viewing and the date listed is the day I received the stat sheet and got it on to the site...As the season progresses, you can pretty much figure out which teams get their stat sheets turned in faster than others...

Also, mistakes are made on these stat sheets, so if players or managers see mistakes, please go to the "Webmaster" link (under "Contact" on the navigation bar) to report all statistical errors, typos and misspelled names...

Player transactions

Whenever players are added or dropped, they go on the Transactions Page, which can be found by clicking on the "Teams" link on the navigation bar, or just find the page here:

http://www.tricountyleague.com/Main_pages/Teams_page.shtml

Once a player is dropped, that team cannot re-add him the rest of the season, but other teams can pick him up...

Gabelsville falls to 0-2

Defending champs Coplay won 5-2 over Gabelsville on Sunday to put the Owls at 0-2 which is a rare sight...When the League History section gets further compiled, we'll know for sure, but just guessing, I'd say it's probably the first time in about 20 years that this franchise started 0-2...Don't expect this winless trend to last much longer...It was the first time Coplay beat Gabelsville since May 31, 2001...

The stat sheets are being put on the site as soon as I get them and if anyone spots mistakes, please email me as soon as you spot them...

http://www.tricountyleague.com/Main_pages/Trico_programs.shtml

The ICC Pirates looked impressive in their opener, as Rob Williams shut out the Fleetwings in a 7-0 victory as Erik Ruff went 2-for-3 with a 2B, 3B and 3 RBI...

2007 Trico season about to begin

The 2007 season is upon us, as the season opens up on Thursday, May 10...

Pennridge visits Quakertown (Field #2) at 6:00 and this game is interesting because Pennridge is a new team, looking to win their first franchise game, while Quakertown (The Milford Pioneers franchise, about to embark on their 17th season) is looking to have a record over .500 for the FIRST time in their franchise history...

The 2007 Trico preview has been submitted to The Morning Call and should be in their paper on Thursday (if they have the space) and if they don't, it'll be in over the weekend...

Rosters will be added to the website after the WED night meeting and as many team previews as I can get on there will also be put on the website...

The new Trico site is coming along well, with more than half of the 5000 pages converted over...It is a tedious process, but eventually, I'll get everything converted...The only real question left is which direction to go with the Career Stats and Player Profiles, as we look to overhaul those sections into something really nice...If any players or fans of the league know of any stat programs that would be good to use, feel free to email the site...

Also new for the 2007 season is the directions to the fields, as I now have an "Ending Destination" address for every field for Mapquest so people can get exact directions to every field from their house (or from anywhere)...

Here is a sample link (for Quakertown):

http://www.tricountyleague.com/Trico_field_directions/Quakertown_Pioneers_field.shtml

Other new pages of note include the new Schedule Page:

http://www.tricountyleague.com/History/2007_Calendar.shtml

Here, you can look at the schedule month by month or click on the individual days for a more detailed look at the games, including stat sheets and Morning Call and/or Website articles for certain games...Team schedules can also be found near the top...

Game results will be posted on the site the same night as the game and stat sheets will be posted as soon as the Statistician receives them...

This should be an interesting 2007 season...
