The league banquet will be at the Woodlawn Fire Company off Walbert Avenue today at 5:00 p.m....We have 10 Hall of Fame inductees and all of the league awards will be handed out...The end-of-the-year stats program will also be available...

Coplay 2007 Champions

Brian Boylan tossed a 5-hitter to lead the Coplay Reds to a 4-2 victory in Game 4 at Limeport Stadium to give the franchise their second consecutive championship Wednesday night...

The Reds did not lose 2 games in a row the entire season en route to the title, the fourth in franchise history...

Mike Bortz of Coplay was voted the Playoffs MVP by the league officers and internet radio announcer, although Dan Fassl (2-0, 1 save, 0.00 ERA) got votes and although a player form the runner-up team usually does not get this award, Mike Ziemak certainly deserved consideration with his .526 batting average and flawless defense in the postseason...So did Shawn Betz with a 3-0 record and .345 postseason batting average...

Gabelsville wins Game 3

Shawn Betz scattered 8 hits and only allowed one earned run and the Owls got five runs in the final two frames after the game was scoreless for five innings and Gabelsville held on to win 5-2 on Tuesday...

Betz was also 2-for-4 at the plate, while Mike Ziemak was 2-for-2...For Coplay, Mike Bortz was 2-for-3 and Kyle Rhoades was 2-for-3...

Game 4 will be on Wednesday at 7:00 at Limeport Stadium...

Coplay takes 2-0 lead in Finals

Dan Fassl twirled a 3-hit shutout on Sunday and the Reds bunched 6 of their 7 hits in the 3rd inning to defeat the Gabelsville Owls 5-0 in Game 2 of the best-of-5 Finals...Brandon Leslie was the games' only multiple-hit batter of the game, going 2-for-3...

Gane 3 is slated for Tuesday at 7:00 at Limeport Stadium and it will be televised on RCN TV...

Coplay takes 1-0 lead in Finals

Matt Monti singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth to lift the Coplay Reds to a 7-6 win in Game 1 of the Best-of-5 Trico Finals...

Jarrod Ringer picked up the win in relief and Dan Fassl pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to get the save...Caleb Calarco was 3-for-4 and Dan Borden was 2-for-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI for the Reds...

For Gabelsville, Adam Tsakonas was 2-for-4 woth a 2B, 3B and 2 RBI, Shawn Betz was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored, Jon Kalejta was 2-for-3, Gary Hesssler was 2-for-4 with a 2B and Mike Ziemak was 2-for-2...

Game 2 is at 5:00 at Gabelsville on Sunday and Scott Johnston will bring you live play-by-play audio...

Tri-County League Banquet

The 2007 Tri-County League Hall of Fame and Awards banquet will be held on Saturday, August 18, at 5:00 at the Woodlawn Fire Company...

Directions to the Woodlawn Fire Company will be posted this weekend...

The schedule for the banquet is as follows:

5:00 Happy Hour
6:00 Dinner
7:00 Awards given out
8:30 Entertainment

Dress is casual as jeans and a polo shirt is just fine, suit and tie not required...

Please contact your Manager or email an Officer if you would like to attend and please feel free to bring a date or friends and/or family...

Game 1 postponed to Saturday

Game 1 of the Trico Finals has been postponed until Saturday due to muddy field conditions at Limeport...

The adjusted Finals schedule (as posted on the website) goes as follows:

Game 1: Saturday, August 11, 5:00 at Scherersville #5
Game 2: Sunday, August 12, 5:00 at Gabelsville
Game 3: Tuesday, August 14, 7:00 at Limeport Stadium
Game 4: Wednesday, August 15, 7:00 at Limeport Stadium (if necessary)
Game 5: (tentatively) August 16, 7:00 at Limeport Stadium (if necessary)

Gabelsville advances to Finals

Dan Pierce slammed a clutch, two-out, two-run double in the top of the seventh to lift Gabelsville to a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Fleetwings to win the series 3-1...

A.J. Bohn was 3-for-3 with a double, Shawn Betz was 2-for-4 and Matt Danner was 2-for-4 for Gabelsville...Scott Matejicka was 3-for-4 and finished the postseason 13-for-24 (.542 average) for the Fleetwings...

The Owls (27-7-2) advance to play the Coplay Reds (29-4-1) in the Finals, starting at 7:00 at Limeport Stadium...

The game will be broadcast on RCN TV on Friday at 10:30 p.m. and Saturday at 7:00 p.m....

We did lose the signal (dropped call, basically) about 38 minutes into the broadcast, and apparently, the play-by-play audio never came back as we did get the signal back within seconds, but perhaps I hit a wrong button to get the audio back as there were no instructions with the software on what to do if the signal goes down during the broadcast...

Scott Johnston will do the play-by-play for the Finals...

The Fleetwings scored three two-out runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie Gabelsville and then both teams squandered ninth-inning opportunities as Game 4 ended in a 3-3 tie...

The Owls still lead 2-games-to-1 in the Best-of-5 Semifinals series as Game 4 will be replayed in its entirety at 5:45 on Tuesday right back at Scherersville #1...

Jon Kalejta was 3-for-5, Gary Hessler was 2-for-4 and Steve Burdan was 2-for-3 with a double for Gabelsville...Matt Marcks had a two-run 1B to tie the game for Woodlawn...

Coplay advances to Trico Finals

Caleb Calarco (8 K's) got the win and Jarrod Ringer got the save and Eric Schmitt led the way with a 3-for-3, 3 RBI performance as the Coplay Reds defeated the Limeport Bulls 5-2 on Saturday to win the Best-of-5 Semifinals series 3-0.

Jeremy Faust was 2-for-4 and J.R. Graver was 2-for-3 with a 2B for Coplay...Kenny Serfass was 2-for-3 for Limeport...

Top-seeded Coplay awaits the winner of the Woodlawn/Gabelsville series (tied at 1-1) and that series resumes Sunday afternoon at 4:30 at Gabelsville...Game 4 will be at 5:45 on Monday back at Scherersville #1...

Owls win, Coplay squeezes by Limeport

Shawn Betz tossed a 4-hit shutout on Thursday as Gabelsville evened their semifinals series with Woodlawn at a game apiece with their 2-0 win...Jon Kalejta was 2-for-3 and Adam Tsakonas was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Owls...

At Limeport, in perhaps the best game of the season in 2007 in the Tri-County League, the Coplay Reds edged the Limeport Bulls 6-5 on a Kyle Rhoades suicide squeeze in the top of the eighth that scored Mike Bortz...Bortz kept the game alive for the Reds by throwing out a runner at home plate by an eyelash to end the 7th inning...The Reds take a 2-0 series lead...

Dan Borden was 2-for-3 with two 2Bs and Rob Medlock was 2-for-3 for Coplay...Blair Dameron was 3-for-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI, Pat Hollander was 2-for-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI and Matt Geiger was 2-for-3 with a 2B and 3 Runs scored for Limeport...

The Woodlawn Fleetwings defeated Gabelsville 4-3 on Tuesday and the Coplay Reds downed Limeport 3-0 to take 1-0 series leads in the Best-of-5 Trico Semifinals...

Jed Hopewell got the win and Scott Garger had the game-winning two-run single in the sixth for the Fleetwings at Gabelsville...Scott Matejicka was 2-for-4 and Charlie Torres was 2-for-2 for Woodlawn, while Jon Kalejta was 3-for-4 with a 2B for the Owls...

At Scherersville #5, Brandon Leslie tossed a 5-hit shutout and Mike Bortz homered to lead Coplay to victory...Josh Faust was 2-for-2 for the Reds while Pat Lane was 2-for-3 for Limeport...
