Fabian Acevedo collects 500th career hit...

Fabian Acevedo ripped a single to left off a 1-2 pitch from Jedi Gonzalez to get his 500th career hit Sunday during a 6-3 loss to the ICC Pirates...

Dueling no-hitters on Saturday...

The Mezza Luna Black Sox ended a rough season on a high note with a 3-0 win over Jordan Creek as Greg Hoyle twirled a no-hitter...

A few minutes after that game ended at Scherersville #1, the Northern Yankees were finishing up a dramatic 2-1 victory over Gabelsville at Scherersville #5 as Jake Argue went 6 strong and Adam Sandt (who hit the go-ahead 2-run HR off the LF fair-pole in the bottom of the 6th) pitched a scoreless 7th for the Save and a combined no-hitter...

It is first time that the Gabelsville franchise has been no-hit and the first time in Trico history that two teams were no-hit on the same day...

Ahhhh, the wooden-bat era...

Erik Ruff is making his bid for 2008 Trico MVP with a late surge that included three (yes 3) 3-run homers in Sunday's 10-6 win over Pennridge (played at Pennridge)...He hit one in the 1st inning, then his next one gave ICC a 7-6 lead in the 4th, and his final 3-run blast came in the 6th, giving the Pirates some insurance runs and a 10-6 lead...

Darrin Lenhart and Ben Swatsky have been the front-runners all season for MVP, while Ruff & Ricky Rivera have been hovering back in the shadows behind those two all season until the last 2 weeks, where Ruff has joined the race and arguably may now be the front-runner...
